Since March 2020 we’ve been a nation of doorstep clappers, pan bangers, amateur teachers and news-obsessives. We even sorted through that box of random things in the garage we’ve been stepping over for a decade. We’ll never question the worthiness of these endeavours but as normality starts to return, we’re all eager to start replacing the memory of them with new and exciting things. And by new, we actually mean old; because all we really want is for things to go back to a pre-Covid state. Thankfully they are – at a justifiably cautious pace – and at De Vere we’re celebrating the nation returning to its happy place with a brand-new reopening campaign and mantra for a bright, new future. We’re calling it ‘Rise and Shine’.

Safety does it

Before we were eventually allowed to reopen in July 2020, we worked tirelessly to make our hotels as spotlessly clean and reassuringly safe for our guests as possible. We call it ‘Your Wellbeing at Heart’, and many of these measures still remain, albeit they now feel a bit more familiar. But look past the sanitising stations or through the Perspex screens and you’ll see our hotels are looking better than ever. Anything that could be cleaned has been, the gardens have been manicured and the terraces spruced-up. The cobwebs have, quite literally, been blown away. Now all we need is for guests to return and start occupying our pristine bedrooms, sipping cocktails in our bars and dining in the atmospheric, soon-to-be-buzzing restaurants.

Dining delights

Our chefs have been busy creating menus that reflect the ‘new beginning’ feel of Rise and Shine and the summer of 2021, with some scrumptious new, seasonal dishes. Some of the hotels in our portfolio have also procured Pimms-laden horsebox bars and pizza ovens for the gardens, serving icy drinks and artisan, wood-fired treats to be enjoyed al fresco.

Happy Days Out

Many of our hotels are fortunate to sit in lush, rolling parkland or grand mansion house gardens and are a joy to explore in their own right. Yet when you use a De Vere hotel as a base for days out and family adventures, you’ll find they’re surrounded by some incredible attractions: places that aren’t so far that they’re stressful to reach, making the drive back to the hotel mercifully short when you’re worn out and looking forward to a well-earned cold one.

De Vere Beaumont Estate sits proudly in Old Windsor, with the town itself and its world-famous royal castle just 5 minutes down the road. Windsor aside, there are plenty of other places close to our hotels that make for memorable excursions. If theme parks are your thing, LEGOLAND is under 15 minutes’ drive away from De Vere Beaumont Estate. Or, if your little ones don’t meet the minimum height requirement there, many of our properties have working farms and animal parks close by where you can let them go wild with the wildlife. Not all days out need to be action-packed, though. De Vere Tortworth Court or De Vere Cotswold Water Park are on opposite edges of the beautiful Cotswolds, with Blenheim Palace, sleepy, picture-postcard villages and other hidden gems worthy of your attention.
